This video identifies some of the potential problems associated with lifecasting/lifelogging. People in public still reserve their right to be involved in a private practice- whether it be eating their lunch, having a private conversation on a cell phone, or simply just hanging around talking to a friend. The expectation is that one has the "right to be let alone" even if he/she is in a public space.
Yet, what is the difference between CCTV footage capturing private moments in its field of view? Is it that the CCTV is so high up and out of view and somewhat melded into the landscape and unobtrusive? What is the difference with body worn recording devices? Are they more overt in nature and that is why they make people afraid?
These are just some of the topics we will discuss at IEEE ISTAS13 in Toronto, Canada.
