"Social-Technical Issues Facing the Humancentric RFID Implantee Sub-culture through the Eyes of Amal Graafstra" Invited talk by Mr Amal Graafstra, USA
This video was taken of Mr Amal Graafstra delivering his invited paper at the IEEE Symposium on Technology and Society (ISTAS) held at the University of Wollongong 7-10 June 2010.
Mr Graafstra's paper was titled "Social-Technical Issues Facing the Humancentric RFID Implantee Sub-culture through the Eyes of Amal Graafstra" and was co-written with Associate Professor Katina Michael and honorary senior fellow Dr M.G. Michael.
Mr Graafstra is the author of RFID Toys: Cool Projects for Home, Office and Entertainment and is one of the most prominent RFID do-it-yourselfer implantees. Graafstra received his chip implant in 2005.
The theme of the conference was "The Social Implications of Emerging Technologies" and Associate Professor Katina Michael who was the program chair of the conference found it necessary to ensure there was a talk on humancentric RFID implants by a member of society.
